Artist Concept:
"Fun Day at the Cake Shop" is the second piece in a series that pays homage to my past career as a cake decorator. The piece captures the joyful essence and creative spirit of cake decorating through its vibrant colours and intricate design. The sponges are carefully arranged to mimic a cake, complete with elaborate pipework, faux white chocolate edges, and a dusting of edible gold leaf. The twirls of sugar work and scattered glass bubbles evoke a sense of freedom, as if the cake itself is ready to take flight. This work is a celebration of the art of cake decorating and the happiness it brings.
My Shiny Perspective:
"Fun Day at the Cake Shop" is my zany ode to the sugary splendour of cake decorating! Picture this: sponges spiralling like a dizzying sugar rush, mimicking the swirls and twirls of fancy frosting on a fabulously festive cake. The edges? Oh, they're decked out with pretend white chocolate and a sprinkle of edible gold leaf for that extra dash of pizzazz and sophistication—because why not? Then, there's the delightful chaos of colourful, twisted threads representing playful sugar work, and scattered glass bubbles that scream, "Wheee!" as they give the illusion that this cake is so joyous it's literally taking off! Imagine a cake so happy, it's flying to its new home, carrying with it the spirit of celebration and unrestrained joy. This piece is a whimsical wink to my days as a cake decorator, where culinary art met pure fun. It’s all about the glee and creativity that cake decorating entails, mixed with a hefty dose of artistic freedom. "Fun Day at the Cake Shop" is here to splash your space with a riot of colours and a burst of happiness, capturing the sheer delight and satisfaction that come from both baking and art. Get ready to smile every time you look at it!

Junk and Disorderly Disclamer:
Junk and Disorderly Disclaimer:
I am in the business of Junk, old unused items people are going to throw away. My joy as a recreator is to wave my magic shiny wand and transform them into something I am proud to send out my door. It must be said though, that there is nothing perfect in the old (sorry mum) - if you look closely, you are going to find rust, scratches or the odd ugly backside as I endeavour to do my best in a sustainable way. With upcycling, must come the understanding that these come to you flawed, like the sediment in an old wine, or a tarnished old coin from years ago. Enjoy the old and celebrate our flaws, old or new! Thanks MSM.
