"Bittersweet " is a print from my earlier work, Great Day at the Cake Shop. This piece examines the delicate balance between moments of joy and melancholy. The vibrant yet darker-hued colours offer a playful nod to celebration, while hinting at the more sombre aspects of when the party is over.  Layered with subtle textures, the artwork invites a deeper look, capturing the various facets of celebration as a collective experience. It reflects how each person's perspective and energy at a party can be vastly different, encapsulating the complex emotions that unfold during these moments of festivity.

This one’s for anyone who’s ever laughed through the tears or noticed that even in celebration, a little sadness can linger, like the sparkle left behind after the party. It’s that moment when the music fades, and you realise the party’s energy isn’t the same for everyone—some are still dancing, and others are already cleaning up. We’ve all been there, stuck between the fun and the clean-up, wondering where the magic went. It’s a little bittersweet, but that’s what makes it real.
