Artist Concept:
Flower Power is a vibrant exploration of resilience and the power of reinvention. This piece began its life as an old, worn cork board covered in floral material, carrying a unique personality that demanded attention from its inception. The laborious process of transforming this once-forgotten object into a bright, whimsical work of art is a testament to the persistence and creativity required to breathe new life into discarded materials. The piece features a kaleidoscope of colours and textures, meticulously assembled from found objects that were destined for the end of their life. Through this labor-intensive process, Flower Power became not just a visual delight, but a statement on the sustainability and beauty that can emerge from what is often overlooked or discarded. The piece invites viewers to immerse themselves in its vibrant colours and intricate details, challenging them to recognize and appreciate the hidden value in everyday objects.
Junk and Disorderly Disclaimer:
I am in the business of Junk, old unused items people are going to throw away. My joy as a recreator is to wave my magic shiny wand and transform them into something I am proud to send out my door. It must be said though, that there is nothing perfect in the old (sorry mum) - if you look closely, you are going to find rust, scratches or the odd ugly backside as I endeavour to do my best in a sustainable way. With upcycling, must come the understanding that these come to you flawed like the sediment in an old wine, or a tarnished old coin from years ago. Enjoy the old and celebrate our flaws, old or new! Thanks MSM.
Note: For framing this heavenly creature - I recomment clear acrylic bolted to the front as I have done with the "Eyes on me" piece. (Happy to orgainise this or point you in the right direction, I know a guy.....)

Flower Power (Damn Hippies)
My Shiny Perspective:
Flower Power was a bit of a diva from the start, refusing to settle until every last quirky detail was just right. This old corkboard, covered in flowery material, immediately took charge, dictating the terms of its transformation. It even insisted on a dramatic entrance, refusing to fit in my car and sending me on a wild goose chase through Epsom, asking joggers for bungie ties. But in the end, my faithful husband came to the rescue with a car big enough for the job.
This piece quickly became my nemesis, demanding a level of attention and labour that far exceeded any of my other works. It wasn't content with just any old colour theory—I had to dig deep, pulling out all the stops to find the brightest, most eye-catching bits and pieces to complete its look. After some time in the "naughty corner" for contemplation, Flower Power re-emerged, shiny, slightly mad, and ready to be the life of the party. The true joy of this piece is in the little discoveries, as viewers recognize all the odd and ends that went into making this sustainable creation a vibrant adventure.
Large and Heavy Wall Sculpture Important Info:
Note: Please be advised that my range of upcycled wall sculptures can be quite heavy. It is essential that they are hung correctly, on a suitable weight-bearing location of your wall, specifically on the stud line. All my artworks have been previously hung in-house for over 72 hours to ensure their ability to bear weight properly. Shipping of my heavier sculptures is available upon application.
