Artist Concept: "Eyes on Me"
"Eyes on Me" reimagines the iconic image of Marilyn Monroe, focusing on the relentless gaze that followed her throughout her life. The artwork uses an upcycled canvas featuring a Marilyn print, now evolved with a layered complexity. Men's shirt arms, gifted and carefully arranged, symbolize the constant and often invasive attention from admirers. These arms are adorned with various circular elements and balloon-end eyes, representing the watchful stares that defined her existence. Her iconic red dress is now highlighted with vivid balloon petals, adding a touch of fragility to the allure that captivated many. Inset acrylic offcuts and metallic elements introduce a modern twist, while gifted sewing threads in gold and red emphasize the superficial glamour that both celebrated and constrained her. This piece pays tribute to Marilyn Monroe's enduring legacy, reflecting the duality of fame—its allure and its objectification.

Eyes on Me
My Shiny Perspective:
"Eyes on Me" takes you straight into the dazzling yet dizzying world of Marilyn Monroe, where every look was either a wink of admiration or a side-eye of scrutiny. Crafted from upcycled goodies (because why not give trash a glamorous second life?), this piece layers Marilyn’s public persona with a touch of cheeky fun. Those shirt sleeves? Yup, they’re now watchful eyes—because who wouldn’t want a wardrobe that literally watches your every move? And that iconic red dress? It’s been given a balloon petal makeover, ready to pop at any moment, just like the pressures of fame. This isn’t just a nod to Marilyn—it’s a playful jab at the never-ending gaze that follows women in the limelight today. Shine on, Marilyn!
