Artist Concept:
"My Dangerous Leftovers" delves into themes of sustainability and the hidden value within overlooked materials. The piece began with the serendipitous discovery of an old drawer filled with a variety of garage items, a treasure trove of industrial components saved for a rainy day. This assemblage of screws, nails, and hundreds of random items, once considered useless, has been meticulously arranged to create an intricate and visually compelling mosaic. The inclusion of a repurposed art deco mirror adds a layer of historical and aesthetic depth, bridging the gap between past and present.
The work also touches on themes of domestic boundaries and collaboration. My initial foray into the garage—a traditionally male-dominated space—led to an unexpected reprimand, highlighting the often unspoken rules governing household territories. In response, I reached out to my community for additional materials, embodying the collaborative spirit central to my upcycling practice.
The resulting piece is a testament to the ingenuity of repurposing and the hidden beauty within the mundane. It challenges viewers to see the potential in what is often dismissed as waste, underscoring the notion that even the most unassuming leftovers can be dangerous in their ability to provoke thought and inspire creativity. The art deco mirror serves as a focal point, reflecting both literal and metaphorical layers of the piece, inviting viewers to reflect on their own perceptions of value and waste.
Note: Please be advised that my range of upcycled wall sculptures can be quite heavy. It is essential that they are hung correctly, on a suitable weight-bearing location of your wall, specifically on the stud line. All my artworks have been previously hung in-house for over 72 hours to ensure their ability to bear weight properly. Shipping of my heavier sculptures is available upon application.

My Dangerous Leftovers....
My Shiny Perspective:
"My Dangerous Leftovers" is a glorious mishmash of garage goodies and shiny bits from an art deco mirror that I found lurking in forgotten corners. Picture this: an epic quest into the male-only zone of the garage, where I bravely rummaged through a treasure trove of screws, gears, and mysterious electronic thingamajigs. Who knew such wonders existed in a drawer destined for eternal neglect? Of course, my heroic efforts were met with stern disapproval from the garage overlord, who did not appreciate my newfound appreciation for his sacred stash. But did that deter me? Absolutely not! I rallied the troops (aka my community) and gathered even more quirky components to create this masterpiece. Now, behold the chaotic beauty of repurposed randomness! This piece not only highlights the hidden potential of junk but also adds a touch of vintage class with an art deco mirror. It’s a playful reminder that even the most unassuming leftovers can shine brightly—like a disco ball in a dusty attic. So, keep your dangerous leftovers, garage guardians; I've got a masterpiece to make!
